About Lee Hull

"My personal mission has been to improve the quality of care for those affected by chronic kidney disease. Kidneyhood.org continues to drive research, education, and solutions by developing clinically proven programs to slow the progression of kidney disease and dramatically extend the useful life of kidneys."

- Lee Hull

Lee Hull was diagnosed in 1998 with incurable kidney disease. He tried various drugs and steroids without success.  His success and failures as a patient became the foundation of the Stopping Kidney Disease book series and the Kidneyhood.org program.  As a result, Lee’s kidney function has been in remission and stable for the past 15 years after ten years of disease progression.

Kidneyhood.org was founded to drive improved outcomes for kidney disease patients no matter where they live.

Major problems include:

  1. Limited or no access to education on medical foods and diets that can slow or stop disease progression
  2. A lack of standardized treatment plans or dietary guidance when medications fail
  3. Validate and clinically prove programs for extending the useful life of kidneys for many years.

The results and progress have been dramatic in terms of outcomes in the first seven years of the program:

  • First clinically proven kidney/renal diet and program
  • Best selling Kidney disease book series for over 5 years
  • The program has expanded to over 20 countries and now pending approval for medical or special medical foods in several countries based on strength of studies.
  • Multiple patents in over a dozen countries
  • Ongoing improvement for proteinuria management for 2026
  • New clinical studies for 2026 to further improve and validate the program
  • Improved and updated Albutrix/Microtrix for 2026

Headshot of Lee Hull

"I give him tremendous credit for his perseverance, grit and determination... He has probably read and reread more clinical studies than most nephrologists and has used himself as a guinea pig to try different approaches. What is more, he continues this quest not just for himself but for all those in the world who suffer from CKD."
